Gynura

Gynura 'Purple Passion' has velvety green oval leaves which have bright purple edges and veining. Tiny purple hairs on the leaf surface give the leaves a faint purple sheen. The plant also has bright purple stems, making it one of the most colorful foliage plants indoors. It grows as a trailing vine, which makes it perfect for a hanging basket or a shelf.

CARE GUIDE:
- Does best in partial bright, indirect sunlight. A window with morning sun is a good location. Afternoon sun is usually too strong and may cause sun damage or stress. Too little light, on the other hand, leads to leggy growth.
- Water regularly during the active growth season and reduce watering in winter to prevent root rot. The soil should feel slightly moist to the touch, not wet or soggy.
- Keep the plant away from cold drafts near windows and air-conditioning. Humidity can be an issue as the velvety hairs on the leaves trap water, which may lead to leaf rot - should never be misted for that reason.
- Often gets a bit "leggy" and benefits from having the vines pinched back regularly to encourage a neater appearance and fuller growth. Cut the vines between 2 and 5 inches from the soil surface, The plant will rejuvenate quickly and have a fuller, bushier growth habit and neater appearance.
- Non-toxic to pets.
